Objective

To enhance viticulture in Luxembourg using advanced digital tools for better vineyard management and sustainability.

Description

The Living Lab in Luxembourg aims to support winegrowers by integrating Remote Sensing (RS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. By collecting real-time data on microclimate and soil conditions, winegrowers can optimize disease treatment, irrigation, and fertilization. The lab also develops digital replicas of vineyards to monitor plant health and predict issues like drought or disease, ensuring precise and efficient vineyard management.

Use cases

In-Field Microclimate and Crop Monitoring in Vineyards

Winegrowers face challenges in controlling downy mildew due to variable microclimates. This use case deploys sensors to provide real-time data, optimizing plant protection and reducing environmental impact.

Digital Twin for Digitalized Management of Vineyards

Efficient vineyard management is hampered by diverse terrains. By creating a digital twin using advanced sensors and UAVs, winegrowers gain precise insights for better decision-making, enhancing sustainability and productivity.
